ABOUT BUSINESS

Direct Flights to Kenya and Tanzania
Since November, 1, Air Italy will offer direct flights from Warsaw to Thailand and Kenya (Boeing 757 and 767), and in summer 2008, it will also introduce flights to Brazil, Venezuela, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and to Maldives. Also in 2008, similar connections will be launched from the south of Poland, from Cracow, or from Katowice. This is the first offer of the kind in Poland. So far, Polish tourists flying to those places have had to transfer at other European airports. The Italian carrier will be operating in Poland via the Air Italy Polska company. Its stakeholders, apart from Italians, are Polish Capital Partners and Bridge Fund, as well as British Leisureway Aviation.

Carrefour to Replace Albert
French group Carrefour is to take over Ahold Polska, the owner of the Albert network. In this way, the French will take over 183 Albert supermarkets, 15 Hypernova mini-hypermarkets and four petrol stations. The value of the transaction is estimated at EUR 375 million. Thus Carrefour, with a turnover at almost EUR 2 billion and 330 shops, is to become number two large distributor in Poland.

Millions of Euro for Training
Over 1.1 million people have already taken advantage of various forms of assistance within the European Social Fund (ESF). The primary objective of the fund is to improve the situation on the European Union’s labor market. So far, we have received over EUR 2 billion for improving the situation on the labor market and human resources development. Various programs, the value of which exceeds PLN 7.4 billion, are being implemented with the participation of national funds (almost a quarter of the EU share). According to statistics, the effectiveness of these programs stands at 60% in the case of both those who have found a job and those who have started their own business. By the year 2013, the amount of money spent on business development in Poland, together with national resources, is to reach EUR 11.4 billion.

Attractive Polish Post Office
The largest mail operators in the world are interested in entering the Polish market. Although it will be fully liberalized as late as in 2013, British Royal Mail and French La Poste, to name just a few, have already revealed their interest in the Polish mail market. The foreign companies have already had talks with the PAF Post Operator network (PAF Operator Pocztowy) which runs 230 branches in the country. Until the Polish market is liberalized, foreign giants will undoubtedly attempt at entering Polish companies as strategic investors.

Poles Want to Run Their Own Business
Within the first half of 2007, as many as 147,000 new enterprises were established in Poland. And it is only the beginning. According to experts, in a year or two, we are to witness a boom in entrepreneurship, as more and more Poles want to have their own business. This tendency is developing due to the favorable economic situation that we have been observing for two years. High demand on the market encourages people to start their own economic activity. Moreover, on the Polish market, there are many well-educated experts, which again is an incentive for starting up a business.

A Billion from Privatization
At the end of June 2007, gross revenue from privatization stood at PLN 1.02 billion. This makes one third of the gross revenue from privatization planned for the year 2007. At the end of the year, there should be PLN 2.3 billion on the State Budget account (net revenue). At the end of May, there was as much as PLN 707.69 million on this account. The State’s revenue from dividends in the first half of 2007 stood at PLN 314.49 million. This year’s plans expect this sum to reach PLN 4.35 billion.

Sweet Business
Jutrzenka is nowadays the only Polish capital company which has managed to overtake such world’s giants as Nestle or Master Foods. The company’s ambition is to sell the largest amount of sweets in the country. So far, the leading position on the Polish market of sweets is reserved for Cadbury Wedel, which has no intention of giving up. The British concern controls 11.75% of the Polish market, while Jutrzenka 11.53%. Jutrzenka discloses that it plans to acquire some more food companies (after it has taken over Goplana and Kaliszanka), and not only in Poland. The company intends to establish one of the largest concerns manufacturing sweets in Central and Eastern Europe.

Polish Business in the East
This year’s total value of Polish investments in Ukraine and Russia is to reach USD 1 billion. Several Polish companies are preparing to the acquisition or construction of factories in these two countries. The Polish Gas and Oil (PGNiG), which is to participate in the construction of a pipeline from Norway to Denmark and Sweden, is planning a huge investment. PGNiG and PKN Orlen are those Polish companies whose investments abroad are the largest. They are followed by smaller firms which often choose Ukraine as the country with much lower labor costs than those in Poland (average wage in Ukraine is USD 0.65 per hour). Some Polish companies intend to move all their production to Ukraine. In Russia, in turn, Polish firms plan to spend EUR 150 million on the construction of their factories.

J.W. Construction in Kazakhstan
J.W. Construction, one of the largest Polish developers, has been gradually conquering the markets abroad. It is already present in Russia, where it is building a housing estate near Moscow, in Bulgaria, where it cooperates with the local construction company Kurortno Stroitielstwo, and its next destination is Kazakhstan. For some time already, the country has been undergoing a construction boom, thanks to its huge income from export of raw materials. Construction companies from Russia and Turkey have already been operating in Kazakhstan. So far, Polish companies were not interested in investing there, yet the plans of J.W. Construction may make things different.

About Collagena BotoXeXpress®
Polish American Esthetic Medicine clinic Collagena BotoXeXpress was the first to introduce BOTOX® by Allergan®(USA) to its practice in Poland 11 years ago. It was the first also to publicize, advertise and fight the misconceptions and lack of knowledge about this break though therapy among general public and even medical profession. Cosmetic applications of Botulinum Toxin Type A were virtual unknown. Thanks to the Collagena’s efforts BOTOX® usage is now widespread in Poland. Yet the Clinics expertise and experience is still unsurpassed. Because ONLY Collagena Botoxexpress® concentrate solely on non surgical wrinkle elimination and face rejuvenation. Collagena was also the first to change from Collagen as wrinkle Filler to Hyaluronic Acid Temporary yet long lasting Fillers. Now they use Juvederm® Allergan and Teosyal® Swiss for smoothing laugh lines, defining jaw line as well as shape and augment lips.
Now the Clinics doctors also painlessly inject Swiss Aquamid® – an excellent implant for PERMANENT lip shaping, nose, cheek bones and chin augmentation. The Warsaw Collagena BotoXeXpress is also the only accredited clinic in Poland for Israeli EXODERM Lift® mask. After only 8 days this mask turns back the clock 10-15 years in the facial appearance. Spectacular results reveal smooth skin, which is devoid of wrinkles (even deep ones!), blemishes and discolorations. Moreover, the EXODERM Lift® mask tightens the skin and lifts sagging jaw line.
