The Mławski administrative district

The Mławski administrative district is located in the northeastern part of the Mazovian Lowlands. It is further divided into 10 local administrative districts, the capital of which is Mława. Mława is the only city in the administrative district, and also serves the seat for the offices of the district authorities. It has a rich history as a border area at the point where Eastern Prussia and Mazovia met. The lands around Mława lie at the crossroads of major transportation routes in Mazovia, on the Gdańsk-Warsaw highway. Its main river is a slow running Bug-Narew tributary, the Wkra. The area of the administrative district occupies 1,182 km2 and has a population of about 74,000 (of which 30,000 live in Mława). It is an excellent place for investment.
The chief assets in the development of the Mławski administrative district are, above all: ‘ close proximity to the agglomeration of Warsaw; ‘ good access to transport routes due to the central location of the administrative district in Poland, and its convenient situation on the Gdańsk-Warsaw highway; ‘ large resources of well-educated and well-qualified labor, particularly in industries such as electronics, footwear, garment manufacture, industrial and residential construction, and meat and milk processing; ‘ a well-developed infrastructural network (roads, sewage treatment plants, and a high rate of utility installation - gas lines, water systems, and telephone lines); ‘ successful experience with previous investments, among them foreign companies such as Curtis Electronics, LG Electronics, Joy & Company Sp. z o.o., and others; ‘ the great initiative and progressive approach of the local administrations (creating development strategies, tax breaks for investors, support of local non-governmental organizations); ‘ ecological cleanliness which allows for the development of agro-tourism and the production of healthy food products; ‘ great potential in agricultural resources, which allows for the development of food, meat, milk and agricultural processing industries; ‘ well developed elementary and middle schools, as well as institutions of higher learning.
